The Direct Burial Package: This means there is no visitation or service or even graveside services beforehand. It is simply removal of the family's loved one from their place of passing into our care, minimal preparation of the remains, minimal casket and minimal outer burial container (a cemetery requirement). Some mortuaries low ball you without adding in the casket and outer burial container to give people a false sense. At The Guardian of Funds Foundation, we don't pull bait-and-switch tactics. However, that price does not include the cost of the cemetery plot, nor the opening and closing of that plot. I do work with a plot broker, who can secure cemetery plots at a significant discount throughout the southland.

The Traditional Visitation & Funeral Packages: These are generally in the $4500 to $4495 range. This figure does not include the casket or outer burial container. The caskets we offer are priced comparably with CostCo (i.e. 20% to 40% below average). I go through these with families, explaining to them the different types of caskets (metal or wood) and outer burial containers (commonly referred to as vaults), and explain to them the inherent benefits of each. With this type of service (i.e. if the casket is to be open) Embalming will be required. The figure above includes this. Embalming is only necessary if there is to be an open casket visitation.

The Veteran's Packages: The VA provides for the plot, the opening and closing of that plot, the grave marker, the outer burial container, and the care and upkeep. All together, it's like $8,000 worth of benefits to the Veteran gratis. We do a complete Traditional Service for a Veteran and this includes everything (even sales tax). For Veteran's who prefer cremation, we can do a Traditional Service for them as well. The price includes a rental casket for the viewing.
